Peter Viner
It is with great sadness that we announce the recent death of Peter Viner, who had been suffering from cancer for many months. He was a founder member of both New Dawn and the Prince of Peace Community – in fact, he was the first person to move into the original Community house in Greenwich when it became available.
Peter was always one of the earliest to arrive in Walsingham each year and one of the last to leave, being involved in setting up beforehand and packing things away afterwards. During the Conference he worked in the Children’s Ministry team, and could often be seen travelling up and down the site on his bike, carrying large items of equipment. Although he was very ill he was able to pay a brief visit to New Dawn in 2012 so that he could hand over his work with the children to other members of the team and say goodbye to his friends.
His life was one of total dedication to the Renewal of the Church and total dedication to the work.

Discover the hidden treasures of the Church
Pilgrimages are intended to remind us of our journey in faith back to our heavenly Father. The Marian Shrine at Walsingham has been a place of Pilgrimage since the 11th century, which was interrupted for three hundred years after the destruction of the Priory by Henry VIII in 1538. In years long gone it has attracted people from many countries who came to receive strength from God to continue their journey of faith.
Twenty five years ago a different kind of pilgrimage was introduced by the Prince of Peace Community under the title of "New Dawn In The Church", attracting up to three thousand people, from various countries to participate in a event spanning five days, which has now expanded to six days, with a comprehensive programme to suit people of all ages.
A special feature of the Pilgrimage will be the procession to the original site of the Holy House in the Priory grounds.
