The Goodnews Online
web site (see below) has comprehensive links to Christian web sites, and I see
no point in trying to duplicate it; so these are just a few (Catholic) sites
that I have found particularly interesting/useful.
GoodNews OnlineThe online version of the Good News Magazine, the bi-monthly magazine for Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the UK and Ireland. The site also has information about events (conferences, days of renewal, etc) and organisations relating to the Renewal. It has a very good links page to other Christian sites of interest. The VaticanThe Vatican web site. Here you can find papal documents as well as those produced by the Vatican Secretariat and various Commisions.Useful but tricky to navigate, as unless you can find it by the search facility you need to know whether a papal document is an Encyclical, Apostolic Letter, Apostolic Exhortation etc. or which Commision produced it. Also the translations are in American English rather than proper English!Flame Ministries InternationalThe web site for Flame Ministries International, a Neo-Pentecostal Lay Preaching Organisation of the Roman Catholic Church Canonically Constituted as 'An Association of Christ's Faithful'. Also the originators of the "Set My People On Fire" seminars. Look in particular at "Flame Revival News Online" and "Blaze Magazine Online" for some fascinating articles. The Crossroad InitiativeA ministry of Dr. Marcellino D'Ambrosio. Marcellino is a theologian and specialist in the interpretation of scripture and tradition. His teaching covers a wide range of subjects. His video course Exploring the Catholic Church is part of the CaFE programme. As well as going to the web site you can also subscribe to have information emailed to you on a regular basis. This often includes a topical commentary (e.g. on a current feast or saint's day) Zenit - The World Seen From RomeAs well as viewing the information on the web site you can have summaries of news from the Vatican emailed to you on a daily or weekly basis.Daily GospelSubscribe to have the Daily Gospel (for the Mass) emailed to you; and not just the gospel but also the first reading and a commentary. Note however that this is an American site and therefore uses the New Amercan Bible translation (Rather than Jerusalem) and the liturgical calendar can vary from this country. |
