Roman Catholic Shrine
During New Dawn week some of the normal activities of the Catholic Shrine are suspended. However, Confessions and Mass at 12 noon continue as usual. The Slipper Chapel and Holy Spirit Chapel are quiet places for prayer and are open as usual.
The Shrine also has a well stocked gift shop. There is also a cafe which serves meals as well as snacks. For more information please visit http://www.walsingham.org.uk/romancatholic
The Anglican Shrine in the village is well worth a visit. Inside the shrine church is a replica of the original Holy House. The church itself has 15 chapels, one for each of the mysteries of the rosary. There are also the stations of the cross in the grounds. The Anglican Eucharist is offered in the shrine at 7.30am and at 11.30am in the All Souls chapel in the gardens. Each evening at 6pm shrine prayers are offered in the Holy House, these include written intercessions that are made by visitors to the shrine and sent in from all over the world. The Angelus bell is rung an 9am, 12noon and 6pm and can be heard around the village.
HOLY WELL. There is also a holy well just inside the church entrance, where you can fill bottles from the water from the well. Either bring your own or buy a nice little bottles from the Shrine shop nearby. At 2.30pm there is a short service of sprinkling at the well.
